PETER AND SHANNA TOEWS

Peter and Shanna Toews are both music educators in Colorado.  They met while working on their undergraduate degrees at the University of Northern Colorado.  They married in 1999 and had a beautiful set of twins in 2004.

Peter spent 2 years teaching middle and high school band in Windsor, CO.  From there, he had the opportunity to open a brand new school, Mountain View High School, in Loveland, CO.  He has taught concert band, marching band, jazz band, orchestra and music theory for 10 years.  In 2007, he took a year off to complete his Masters degree in Conducting at the University of Northern Colorado.  Peter is often called to clinic and judge around Colorado and other states.  Peter enjoys playing with a brass quintet.

Shanna taught band, choir and general music in Wiggins, CO for 4 years.  She then completed her Masters degree in Wind Conducting at the University of Northern Colorado.  Subsequently, she spent 1 year teaching band at Windsor Middle School.  Then the twins arrived.  Over the next 4 years, she taught band part-time at Mountain View Academy in Greeley, CO.  She currently has a large private flute studio.  Over the past few summers, she has received Suzuki training, currently through level 4.

CAMILLE CASHATT

Camille is a retired music educator from Washington State.  Her 30 years of public school teaching included primary and secondary vocal music, beginning elementary strings, and 2 levels of junior high school orchestra in the Central Valley School District, just east of Spokane, WA.  Camille has her BA in music education from Ft. Wright College in Spokane, and a Masters degree in Music Education with special emphasis in Suzuki education, from the University of Oregon.  She studied with Shinichi Suzuki at Oberlin College, and has certification in Orff Education.  Camille enjoys playing her violin in various community orchestras, and spending time with her grandchildren (including the aforementioned twins).
